Finally was able to try this place as there was no line on a Monday afternoon. Tried the zaatar and cheese boreka. It was perfectly warm, gooey, crunchy and paired so well with the tomato puree. The side of egg was good too. Would be great to pick this up for breakfast for a group so that we can try all the various options. Already craving this again and can't wait to return!
A Savory Delight The Perfect Salty Pastry For those with a penchant for savory over sweet, the spinach and Cheese burekas from this place is a revelation. absolutely masterpiece, the best I ever tasted. The service was excellent, I have waited 7 minutes for 8 dishes and 4 Turkish coffees.

Great food Great ambience Great service If you're looking a delicious lunch or snack, look no further
Always spot on and a crowd pleaser. Flavors are all great and schug is creative. Wait times are annoying, even when ordering ahead, can be 40 minutes.
I came here Monday morning after Mother's Day with my mom who is in fact hooked on this place. These pastries are amazing reminded me of my birthright trip. Even the pickles tasted familiar. These pastries are really good just go there and try them yourself. I have no clue what seasoning they used on their perfectly boiled eggs but they were also good.
Delicious! The staff is very friendly. I visited on an early Sunday afternoon. There was only 1 person in line ahead of me & I had my food within 20 minutes. I even scored one of their tables to eat without an issue. Street parking was no problem on a weekend. I can't wait to come back!
You can place an order in for the day you want to pick up your order by calling them (they will ask what you would like to order and when/what time you would like to pick up). Ordered: - Spinach & Cheese Boreka: this was good - Pinukin Boreka w/no creamy eggs: so good with the tomato purée, chili sauce and pickles on top! The Borekas come with a tomato purée, chili sauce (fire), boiled eggs, and pickles. The Pinukin Borekas come with tahini and chili sauce. Definitely ask for more pickles! Parking: parking is tough in this plaza
I came here on a Sunday as soon as they opened (around 7:30 AM). I was relieved that there was barely anyone there and that parking was easy. There were two parties ahead of me, and in total, it took around ~15 minutes to receive my order (the mushroom and potato). There is not much of an outdoor space to enjoy the borekas, aside from some rickety tables and milk crates (lol). I wish that the seating situation was a bit better so we could've enjoyed them while they were completely fresh. Thankfully, I live in Brentwood so they traveled somewhat decently. I agree with one of the reviewers below. While the borekas were flaky and I enjoyed the experience of trying something new (I had never eaten a boreka, let alone dip it in zhug or tomato pulp), I wasn't totally convinced that they were worth $12 a pop (yes, I know they come with fixings like pickles and hard-boiled eggs, but I still don't think they justify the price tag). To me, they were no different from smashed, chopped-up croissants with a little smear of savory filling on the inside. I'm interested in coming back to try their za'atar and cultured cheese/sweet boreka options, but overall, I would say that this place is a tad bit overhyped.
One of the most delicious pastries I have ever enjoyed. Borekas Sephardic Pastries specialize in their namesake, which are popular in southern Europe and the Middle East. The pastries are flaky delicacies encasing various savory (and sometimes sweet) fillings, traditionally served with tomato pulp, schug, boiled eggs, and pickles. This gem of a bakery serves Borekas, drinks like Turkish coffee, and that's it! I recommend trying at least two different varieties. I opted for the Potato & Brown Butter and Fungi/Onion/Truffle. Both were exceptional, flavored with unfamiliar spices that enhanced the natural ingredients. Eaten together with the included accompaniments, every bite was memorable. All of the borekas on the menu at the time of our visit were vegetarian! A nice surprise for me, as a non meat eater. Highly recommended.
